If you haven’t been keeping up with the Wizards of the Coast videos and posts about the upcoming 2024 rerelease of the Core Rule books; there has been many conversations about how WotC has once again seemed to fumble the Ranger,

While the other class reworks have been mostly positive it seems that WotC still doesn’t know what they want the identity of the Ranger to be. They still lie awkwardly between Druid, Fighter, and Rogue, not leaning onto any real central focus. In the posts Wizards has claimed the class’s core feature is the Hunter’s Mark spell, but as we currently stand there is very little in the class that builds upon using it.
